AltaGas to issue C$500M medium-term notes

AltaGas Ltd. agreed to issue C$500 million of senior unsecured medium-term notes with a 2.609% coupon rate, maturing Dec. 16, 2022.

The company said Dec. 12 that the proceeds will be used to pay down existing indebtedness under its credit facility and for general corporate purposes.

The offering, expected to close around Dec. 16, is being made through a group of investment dealers co-led by BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and CIBC World Markets Inc.

In September, AltaGas filed a preliminary short-form base shelf prospectus for the potential sale of up to C$2 billion of securities.
