Senate confirms Bowman for full term as Fed governor

The U.S. Senate voted 60-31 to confirm Michelle Bowman to a full 14-year term as a Federal Reserve Board governor beginning Feb. 1, 2020.

Bowman will fill a seat reserved for representing community banks, which was created under the Dodd-Frank Act.

President Donald Trump originally nominated Bowman in April 2018 to serve a term ending Jan. 31, 2020, and the Senate voted 64-34 in November 2018 to confirm her nomination. Trump then expressed his intention to nominate Bowman for a full term in April.
