Keyence Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 20 amounted to ¥272.26 per share, an increase of 7.1% from ¥254.15 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥33.02 billion, a gain of 7.1% from ¥30.82 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 33.2% from 36.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 16.8% on an annual basis to ¥99.52 billion from ¥85.22 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 14.1% on an annual basis to ¥45.05 billion from ¥39.47 billion.
Reported net income rose 12.1% year over year to ¥35.49 billion, or ¥292.66 per share, from ¥31.67 billion, or ¥261.16 per share.
