ESG Insider: CEOs push corporate America to focus on all stakeholders

The ESG Insider newsletter compiles news and insights on environmental, social and governance developments driving change in business and investment decisions. Subscribe to our ESG Insider newsletter, and listen to the latest ESG Insider podcast.

Leaders across corporate America are rethinking the purpose of a company.

This week, a group of 181 CEOs including Apple Inc.'s Tim Cook, JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Jamie Dimon and Exxon Mobil Corp.'s Darren Woods issued a letter stating that companies need to focus on how they can benefit "all stakeholders" rather than just on how to boost their profits.

Our newsletter also examines Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's promise for no new mining concessions. Our Chart of the Week shows how exploration budgets in Mexico have changed over the last 15 years. And we dig into a recent deal involving delivery giant United Parcel Service Inc. that signals growing traction for the renewable natural gas market in the U.S.
