Community Health completes sale of 2 Fla. facilities

Franklin, Tenn.-based healthcare company Community Health Systems Inc. said it completed the sale of two facilities in Florida.

The company divested the 193-bed Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport, Fla., and 160-bed Lake Wales Medical Center in Lake Wales, Fla., along with their respective assets, physician clinic operations and outpatient services to affiliates of Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare Corp.

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed, though Community Health said the transaction is effective Sept. 1.

Community Health Systems said the sale of the hospitals was part of planned divestitures noted in the company's second quarter 2019 earnings call.
