Consumers Energy Co. has launched a new multi-year customer rebate program, "PowerMIDrive," to encourage the use of electric vehicles throughout Michigan.
The program will offer rebates between $400 to $500 to residential customers for installing eligible 240-volt chargers at home, $5,000 per charger for 200 level 2 vehicle chargers in public and work places and up to $70,000 for 24 DC fast chargers along highways and travel routes.
The Michigan Public Service Commission in 2019 approved the $10 million program over three years to help educate the public and accelerate development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the state.
