Old Republic Home Protection Co. Inc. appointed Lorna Mello senior vice president of sales and marketing. The company also named Leah Wartelle, former national sales development coordinator, to regional vice president of the mid-Atlantic region. Gail Stevens was named regional vice president of Old Republic Home Protection's central Southwest region.
Beazley PLC appointed Vicente Miranda as a specialty lines underwriter in its Miami office.
Chubb Ltd. appointed Mike Williams executive vice president and manufacturing industry practice leader for its North American midmarket segment. Williams replaces Mark Locke, who is retiring at the end of 2018, as manufacturing industry practice leader. For the remainder of 2018, Locke will serve as deputy industry practice leader.
Jim Blue joined Alera Group Inc. as president, effective May 1.
Michael Micheff joined Everest Insurance as director and senior underwriter within the excess casualty division of Everest Specialty Casualty.
Travelers Cos. Inc. named Abbe Goldstein senior vice president of investor relations. Goldstein replaces Gabriella Nawi, who joined Travelers' personal insurance finance team.
At National General Holdings Corp., Robert Karfunkel assumed the role of president from Barry Karfunkel, who will remain CEO.
Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. named Erick Gustafson as its chief public affairs officer.
Horace Mann Educators Corp. appointed Heather Wietzel vice president of investor relations. Additionally, Ryan Greenier, recently named vice president of finance, is taking on an expanded role in Horace Mann Educators.
Principal Financial Group Inc. named Jon Couture chief human resources officer, effective June 4. He succeeds senior vice president and chief human resources officer Beth Raymond, who resigned March 31.
