Former Alphabet Inc. executive Scott Tierney launched a new fund called Valo Ventures I LP, according to an SEC filing.

Tierney, who was appointed as director of corporate development at Google Inc. in 2011, co-founded Google Capital in 2013, an investment division of Alphabet's investment universe, now known as CapitalG, according to a June 5 Crunchbase News report. In 2015, he was named director of strategy and business development for Google Fiber, where he served until 2017. He then moved to Nest Labs.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based firm, which is targeting $250 million under management, has already raised $175.9 million, according to the filing.
