Oriole applies for 8 new licenses to expand gold footprint in Cameroon

Oriole Resources PLC said Sept. 30 that it has formed a 90%-owned local subsidiary Oriole Cameroon SARL to expand its footprint in Cameroon.

Oriole has submitted applications for eight new licenses, wherein three licenses were filed through the company's existing joint venture with Bureau d'Etudes et d'Investigations Géologico-minières, Géotechniques et Géophysiques SARL or BEIG3, and the other five through the new subsidiary.

The licenses, which are expected to be granted in early 2020, represent a contiguous land package covering 3,500 square kilometers.

The company said that a regional scale stream-sediment program has confirmed multiple gold anomalies within the license areas.

The company is targeting an exploration in the first year, which will include prospect-scale stream-sediment sampling to identify priority targets ahead of follow-up soil sampling and detailed geological mapping.
