Community Health Systems to sell 3 Tenn. hospitals

Community Health Systems Inc., a Franklin, Tenn.-based hospital operator, is selling three Tennessee hospitals and their associated assets to West Tennessee Healthcare Inc.

An affiliate of Community Health signed a definitive agreement for the sale of Tennova Healthcare-Dyersburg Regional in Dyersburg City, Tennova Healthcare-Regional Jackson in Jackson City and Tennova Healthcare-Volunteer Martin in Martin City.

West Tennessee Healthcare is a Jackson, Tenn.-based privately owned not-for-profit healthcare system that operates hospitals in West Tennessee.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

Kaufman Hall & Associates LLC serves as exclusive financial adviser to West Tennessee Healthcare on the transaction.
