Ardian buys stake in German online photography platform

Ardian Holding SAS is acquiring a stake in Germany-based online photography platform Saal Digital Fotoservice GmbH for an undisclosed amount.

Previous shareholders Nordwind Capital Erste Industriebeteiligungen GmbH and the Saal family will continue to hold a substantial stake in the business, and have reinvested on a "significant scale."

Florian Stellwag and Robin Saal will continue to head business development as members of the management team alongside founder Reinhard Saal and Tim Saal.

White and Case offered legal corporate advice, Willkie Farr & Gallagher provided legal finance advice, Taxess advised on tax, while Quarton International was debt advisory. EY Parthenon and EY provided commercial and financial advice, respectively, according to a list of participants in the transaction.

Founded in 1986, Saal Digital is a manufacturer of high-end photo products in Europe.

Ardian is a private markets investor focused on fund of funds, direct funds, infrastructure, real estate and private debt.
