Hella completes sale of Danish, Polish businesses to Mekonomen

German auto-parts maker Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA said Sept. 3 that it has completed the sale of two of its wholesale subsidiaries to Mekonomen AB (publ), following the approval of cartel authorities.

Hella sold its Danish unit FTZ Autodele & Verktoj A/S and Polish unit Inter-Team sp. z o.o. to the Swedish car parts wholesaler for €395 million. The subsidiaries employ a total of around 2,500 workers.

The sale will let Hella focus on its aftermarket activities, particularly the areas of independent aftermarket and innovative workshop equipment. The company plans to advance the interaction between both areas and speed up the development of new digital business models.
