Regulator approves takeover of Deutsche Bank Polska assets by Santander unit

The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection allowed Bank Zachodni WBK SA to acquire the demerged part of Deutsche Bank Polska SA and take sole control of DB Securities SA.

Banco Santander SA's Polish unit agreed in December 2017 to acquire part of Deutsche Bank Polska's business from Deutsche Bank AG for an estimated total consideration of €305 million.

A demerger plan for Deutsche Bank Polska was approved by the parties at the end of February. The sale transaction is still pending the approval of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
