Amgen to acquire $10B common shares in tender offer

Amgen Inc. expects to acquire about $10 billion worth of its common shares in a modified Dutch auction tender offer.

Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based Amgen said it will acquire about 52.1 million common shares, or about 7.2% of its outstanding shares, at $192 apiece.

According to the depository for the tender offer, American Stock Transfer & Trust Co. LLC, about 54,297,698 common shares of the biotechnology company were tendered at $192 apiece.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley acted as dealer managers for the tender offer.
