China's consumer price inflation rose for a third consecutive month to 1.5% annually in May, compared to 1.2% in the previous month, China Daily reported June 9, citing official statistics.
Producer price annual inflation fell to 5.5% from 6.4% in April, due to declining commodity prices.
The May increase in inflation was in line with forecasts and was attributed to higher non-food prices, which grew 2.3% year on year.
In monthly terms, consumer price inflation declined 0.1%.
