Metcash Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended April 30 came to A$78.2 million.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
Total revenue totaled A$6.98 billion, and total operating expenses came to A$6.83 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of A$486.7 million, or a loss of 53 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 18 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 14 cents.
EPS declined 19.6% from 23 cents in the prior year.
Normalized net income was A$166.3 million, a fall of 17.4% from A$201.3 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased on an annual basis to A$13.63 billion from A$13.39 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to A$13.31 billion from A$13.02 billion.
The company said reported net income totaled a loss of A$384.6 million, or a loss of 42 cents per share, in the full year, compared with income of A$180.1 million, or 20 cents per share, the prior year.
