Edgewell Personal Care fiscal Q3 profit climbs 83.4% YOY

Edgewell Personal Care Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 came to 85 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 80 cents per share.

EPS increased 90.4% year over year from 45 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $48.9 million, an increase of 83.4% from $26.7 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 7.7% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased year over year to $637.5 million from $645.1 million, and total operating expenses declined 5.7% year over year to $543.2 million from $575.9 million.

Reported net income increased 50.0% year over year to $54.6 million, or 95 cents per share, from $36.4 million, or 61 cents per share.
