O'Reilly Automotive Q3 profit climbs YOY

O'Reilly Automotive Inc. said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to $3.11 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $3.15 per share.

EPS climbed 11.1% year over year from $2.80.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $274.1 million, an increase from $269.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 11.7% from 12.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 5.4% on an annual basis to $2.34 billion from $2.22 billion, and total operating expenses grew 5.9% from the prior-year period to $1.88 billion from $1.77 billion.

Reported net income increased year over year to $283.4 million, or $3.22 per share, from $278.7 million, or $2.90 per share.
