Great Western Exploration Ltd. said Nov. 28 that a maiden 3,000-meter phase-one reverse circulation drilling program at the Yandal West gold project in Western Australia discovered a large-scale gold system.
Significant intercepts included 24 meters grading 1.51 g/t of gold from 12 meters, including 4 meters grading 5.68 g/t of gold; 20 meters grading 1.63 g/t of gold from 52 meters, including 4 meters grading 6.19 g/t of gold; and 12 meters grading 1.17 g/t of gold from surface.
The program, which was designed to test a gold-in-soil anomaly, helped identify higher-grade priority targets for a 1,500-meter phase two drilling, set to begin next week.
