India's antitrust authorities clear Linde-Praxair merger

India's antitrust regulators have cleared German gases and engineering company Linde AG's planned merger with U.S.-based Praxair Inc.

In a statement, Linde said Indian authorities approved the proposed combination, satisfying a closing condition. The transaction is slated to close in the second half of 2018.

Formed April 18, 2018, Linde PLC will become the parent company of Praxair and Linde once the deal is completed.

The deal is still subject to approval by other regulators and authorities.
