Community Health closes deal to sell 2 hospitals in South Carolina

Franklin, Tenn.-based hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc. said it closed a deal to sell two hospitals in South Carolina.

The company sold the 207-bed Mary Black Health System in Spartanburg, S.C., and the 125-bed Mary Black Health System in Gaffney, S.C., and their related businesses, including physician clinic operations and outpatient services, to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

The company did not disclose financial terms of the transaction.

Community Health Systems affiliates continue to operate four hospitals in South Carolina.
