Independence Group starts receiving renewable power supply for Nova mine

Zenith Energy Ltd. said Dec. 18 that it began supplying power to Independence Group NL's Nova nickel-copper-cobalt mine in Western Australia's Fraser Range via a hybrid solar-diesel plant.

The battery-free system maximizes production from the Solar PV unit and is coupled with the diesel-powered generation facility that resulted in fuel savings for Independence Group of about 6,500 liters per day and reduced carbon emissions.

A day earlier, Independence Group extended an offer to acquire the remaining shares in Panoramic Resources Ltd. that it does not already own to Jan. 17, 2020.
