Goldplay to acquire Plomosas silver project in Mexico from First Majestic

Goldplay Exploration Ltd. entered into a nonbinding letter of intent to acquire the Plomosas silver project from First Majestic Silver Corp. near Goldplay's San Marcial silver-gold project in Mexico.

Goldplay agreed to acquire First Majestic unit and project owner Minera La Rastra SA de CV by paying C$100,000, issuing shares equal to 19.9% of Goldplay, and granting a 2% net smelter royalty that can be halved for US$1 million.

The deal is subject to the signing of a definitive agreement. Both companies are moving forward with their respective due diligence reviews during a 60-day exclusivity period, according to a Jan. 7 news release.

The 8,514-hectare Plomosas property includes the past-producing Plomosas-La Cruz mine, San Juan mine, La Colorada mine, El Huarache mine and El Saltito mine as well as 11 exploration targets.
