Petra Education Co. Public Shareholding Co. said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to 15 Jordanian fils per share, a gain of 10.8% from 14 fils per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.5 million dinars, an increase of 10.6% from 2.2 million dinars in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 31.1% from 31.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 11.5% on an annual basis to 7.9 million dinars from 7.1 million dinars, and total operating expenses rose 11.6% from the prior-year period to 4.2 million dinars from 3.7 million dinars.
Reported net income grew on an annual basis to 3.1 million dinars, or 20 fils per share, from 3.0 million dinars, or 19 fils per share.
As of April 29, US$1 was equivalent to 71 Jordanian fils.
