NC regulator approves Fresh Air Energy to develop solar project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on May 15 approved Fresh Air Energy II LLC's request for a certificate of public convenience and accepted registration to develop a solar plant.

The commission granted Fresh Air Energy approval to construct a 35.4-MW solar photovoltaic facility in Cabarrus County, N.C. Fresh Air Energy plans to sell the plant's output to Duke Energy Corp. subsidiary Duke Energy Carolinas LLC.
