Taisei Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥99.93 per share, an increase of 6.0% from ¥94.28 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥22.59 billion, an increase from ¥21.71 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 6.2% from 6.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥365.10 billion from ¥349.06 billion, and total operating expenses increased 5.1% from the prior-year period to ¥328.43 billion from ¥312.61 billion.
Reported net income rose 5.6% on an annual basis to ¥24.40 billion, or ¥107.94 per share, from ¥23.11 billion, or ¥100.38 per share.
