National American University Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, was 11 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 6 cents per share.
EPS increased 99.5% year over year from 6 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $2.8 million, a gain from $1.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.2% from 4.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 7.7% on an annual basis to $30.6 million from $33.2 million, and total operating expenses fell 15.9% year over year to $25.9 million from $30.8 million.
Reported net income rose year over year to $2.8 million, or 11 cents per share, from $1.3 million, or 5 cents per share.
