French spirits and liquor maker Rémy Cointreau SA said May 29 that the company has entered into negotiations to buy Maison de Cognac JR Brillet and part of its vineyard estate.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"The acquisition of Maison JR Brillet will represent, for Rémy Cointreau, the opportunity to integrate spirits with genuine development potential into its portfolio and to increase, over time, the value of an inventory of eaux-de-vie and vineyards of the highest quality," the company said in a statement.
Rémy Cointreau expects to sign the deal in fall 2019, subject to administrative procedures.
In April, Rémy Cointreau completed the sale of its distribution units in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to German distiller Mast-Jägermeister SE.
