Keyence fiscal Q3 profit climbs 45.7% YOY

Keyence Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 20, 2014, amounted to ¥246.48 per share, an increase of 45.7% from ¥169.14 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥29.89 billion, a gain of 45.7% from ¥20.51 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 35.6% from 32.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 31.4% on an annual basis to ¥84.04 billion from ¥63.97 billion, and total operating expenses grew 19.8% from the prior-year period to ¥39.73 billion from ¥33.17 billion.

Reported net income increased 48.6% from the prior-year period to ¥30.80 billion, or ¥253.93 per share, from ¥20.72 billion, or ¥170.87 per share.
