Amazon.com Inc. said March 7 that it plans to open its first fulfillment center in Missouri, which is expected to create over 1,500 full-time jobs.
The move is an addition to the e-commerce giant's footprint in the state, where it already operates a sortation center in Hazelwood.
The 800,000-square-foot facility, which will integrate Amazon Robotics technology, will house picking, packing and shipping operations of small items, including books, electronics and toys.
