Russia's leading diamond miner, PJSC Alrosa, increased sales in February to US$541.9 million from US$504.5 million in January.
Rough diamond sales by value amounted to US$532.8 million, and polished diamond sales brought in US$9.1 million.
In a March 7 release, the company attributed the growth to a ramp-up in sales in China on the eve of Chinese New Year and the diamond-cutting sector replenishing stocks.
"Prices for diamonds in most size categories grew in January and February," said Alrosa deputy CEO Yury Okoemov.
