Flight Centre Travel fiscal H1 profit falls 8.6% YOY

Flight Centre Travel Group Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 88 Australian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 97 cents per share.

EPS fell 8.5% year over year from 96 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was A$88.6 million, a decrease of 8.6% from A$96.9 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased year over year to A$1.08 billion from A$1.03 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 9.1% year over year to A$949.9 million from A$871.0 million.

Reported net income fell 9.4% from the prior-year period to A$100.4 million, or 100 cents per share, from A$110.8 million, or A$1.10 per share.
