AT&T, Sinclair resolve carriage dispute

AT&T Inc. reached a new multiyear deal to avoid a blackout of Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.-owned local broadcast stations across its DIRECTV, AT&T TV and U-verse services.

The agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, also includes Sinclair's national cable network Tennis Channel (US) and the future carriage of Marquee Sports Network, a regional sports network featuring the games of the Chicago Cubs, launching in 2020.

In addition, the agreement covers the 21 RSN brands Sinclair recently acquired and YES Network (US), in which Sinclair is a joint-venture partner.

In September, Sinclair warned subscribers to AT&T's pay TV services in 86 markets about a potential blackout of 136 stations if a new carriage deal was not reached.
