TXU Energy, 7-Eleven sign wind power deal

7-Eleven Inc. signed an eight-year contract with TXU Energy Retail Co. LLC to purchase wind power for all of its 425 Texas stores in competitive energy markets.

The contract will begin June 1, 2018, and is expected to reduce the company's carbon footprint by 6.7%, according to an April 3 company release. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

The wind energy will come from wind farms in Texas.
