Saizeriya fiscal Q2 profit climbs 67.4% YOY

Saizeriya Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 28 amounted to ¥15.51 per share, an increase of 66.7% from ¥9.30 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥785.6 million, an increase of 67.4% from ¥469.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 2.4% from 1.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 11.2% year over year to ¥32.99 billion from ¥29.68 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 10.0% on an annual basis to ¥31.89 billion from ¥29.00 billion.

Reported net income totaled ¥457.3 million, or ¥9.03 per share, compared to a loss of ¥293.0 million, or a loss of ¥5.81 per share, in the year-earlier period.
