Eni acquires 2 construction-ready solar projects in Australia

Eni SpA acquired two construction-ready solar photovoltaic projects at Batchelor and Manton Dam in Australia.

NT Solar Investments Pty Ltd. sold the ground-mounted projects to Eni subsidiary Eni Australia Ltd., according to an Oct. 3 news release.

Upon expected completion in the third quarter of 2020, state-owned Jacana Energy will purchase all of the output of the newly-constructed facilities. Each of the projects is expected to have a capacity of approximately 12.5 MW-peak.

The development of the projects is in line with Eni's strategy and will contribute to the Northern Territory's government goal for providing 50% of energy generation from renewable sources by 2030.

NT Solar Investments is a subsidiary of Australia-headquartered Tetris Energy.
