Amgen CFO David Meline to retire; replacement named

Amgen Inc. said David Meline is retiring as CFO and executive vice president of the company.

Meline, who has served in those positions since 2014, will continue to serve as CFO of through the end of 2019 and will remain with Amgen until the second quarter of 2020 to aid with the transition.

Meanwhile, Peter Griffith was appointed executive vice president of finance and will replace Meline as Amgen's CFO on Jan. 1, 2020.

Griffith was previously president of private equity firm Sherwood Canyon Group LLC. He also previously served as global vice chair for corporate development at advisory service firm EY.

Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based Amgen develops therapies in the fields of oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, inflammation, bone health and neuroscience.
