Subsea 7 procures offshore construction, dive support vessel

Oil and gas equipment and services company Subsea 7 SA announced Jan. 16 that it finalized the acquisition of the multipurpose offshore construction and dive support vessel Toisa Pegasus, for an undisclosed amount.

The vessel will be renamed Seven Pegasus and will be used to support the firm's operations in the North Sea and the Asia Pacific region. However, before operations start in the second quarter, the vessel will go through a docking and crew familiarization program.

"This acquisition reinforces our leading diving capabilities and reflects our strategy to actively manage our fleet composition to meet our client's requirements and market conditions," Subsea 7 COO John Evans said.
