Cheniere Energy Inc. on Aug. 28 substantially completed the second liquefaction train of its Corpus Christi LNG export terminal, boosting the company's total completed trains in the Texas project to seven.
Commissioning is also complete and project contractor Bechtel Oil Gas and Chemicals Inc. has turned over care, custody and control of the second train to Cheniere, according to a Sept. 3 news release.
Like the other liquefaction trains at Corpus Christi and the Sabine Pass LNG terminal, the second train was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, the company said. The train received permission from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to begin commercial export activities Aug. 28.
The first commercial delivery for the train is scheduled for May 2020, under sale and purchase agreements with Electricité de France SA, Iberdrola SA, PT Pertamina (Persero) and Woodside Energy Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd.
