Northern Shield stakes additional claims near Huckleberry project in Quebec

Northern Shield Resources Inc. staked a new property, containing 88 claims, in Labrador Trough, Quebec, which will be primarily explored for copper-nickel-platinum group elements mineralization.

In conjunction with the company's main exploration programs in the region, a ground reconnaissance program will be undertaken on these new claims as soon as conditions allow, it said Jan. 27.

The main exploration programs include further exploration at the Huckleberry PGM project, funded under the terms of the option and joint venture agreement with South32 Ltd. The program also includes ground truthing of a VTEM anomaly at Idefix PGM project.

"The assay results from Séquoi are disappointing for us all; however, the presence of certain lithologies in one of the drill-holes directed us to stake this new claim block," Northern Shield President and CEO Ian Bliss said in a statement.
