The Program Guide highlights recent programming announcements from various networks and online video platforms in the U.S.
* HBO (US) will air a four-part limited series called "Catherine the Great," on Oct. 21. Starring Helen Mirren and Jason Clarke, the drama is set against the backdrop of the court of Russian empress Catherine the Great. HBO produced the show in association with Sky. This limited series will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and partners' streaming platforms.
* In other HBO news, the premium cable network renewed "A Black Lady Sketch Show" for a second season. The comedy series presents sketches performed by a core cast of black women, including creator Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson.
* Comedy Central (US) renewed "Drunk History" for a 16-episode seventh season, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The news comes after Comedy Central signed a first-look deal with the show's creator and host, Derek Waters. Under the pact, Waters and his Be Nice or Leave label will develop comedy content for linear and digital platforms for Comedy Central Productions. "Drunk History" features historical reenactments performed by a host of inebriated celebrities.

* The seventh season of "Below Deck" will debut on Bravo (US) on Oct. 7. The reality show is about a group of people who work aboard yachts. Captain Lee Rosbach will return in season seven to lead the crew and Kate Chastain will resume her longtime role as chief stew.
* Nickelodeon (US)'s new preschool series "Blue's Clues & You!" will debut Nov. 11 with Steve Burns and Donovan Patton reprising their roles in the series premiere. The new series will feature new CG-animation for Blue and Magenta, as well as an updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with smartphone technology, according to a news release.
* Disney Channel (US) greenlighted animated series "Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur," which follows the adventures of 13-year-old Lunella Lafayette and her T-Rex, according to a press release. The series will be executive produced by Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland's Cinema Gypsy Productions, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment and Emmy Award winner Steve Loter.
* USA Network Inc. revealed the premiere dates for season two of "The Purge" and spy series "Treadstone." Based on a movie with the same name, the new season of "The Purge" will debut Oct. 15. The season will follow four seemingly unrelated characters from one Purge night to the next. "Treadstone" will also air Oct. 15. The show explores the origins of a covert CIA operation that produced nearly-superhuman recruits.
* In other USA Network news, the network will air the second season of unscripted series "Temptation Island" on Oct. 10, Broadcasting Cable reported. The show follows four dating couples who must decide whether to "commit to a lifetime together or give in to temptation."
* VH1 (US) renewed "RuPaul's Drag Race" for a 12th season and "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars" for a fifth season, according to a news release.
Streaming
* Hulu LLC picked up live-action comedy "Woke," starring Lamorne Morris, Deadline reported. Written by Keith Knight and Marshall Todd, "Woke" follows a San Francisco-based cartoonist named Keef, who is on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident involving cops puts him in a state of "woke."
* Amazon.com Inc.'s Prime Video will stream the second annual "Savage X Fenty Show" on Sept. 20. The runway fashion show will take place during New York Fashion Week, according to a news release. The show will celebrate the new Fall/Winter 2019 collection from music icon Rihanna.
* Corus Studios, a division of Corus Entertainment Inc., struck a global streaming partnership with Netflix Inc. As part of the partnership, Canadian original series "Rust Valley Restorers" is now available on Netflix. The show, which was developed by Corus Studios for HISTORY, is a show about a restoration shop owned by Mike Hall and his crew, who "transform rusted wrecks into collectible cars."
* A short-form unscripted series from "The Muppets" franchise will premiere on The Walt Disney Co.'s upcoming Disney+ streaming service in 2020, Variety reported Aug. 23. Called "Muppets Now," the series will also feature celebrity guest stars. The news was reportedly announced at the Disney Plus D23 Expo event.
* A "Lizzie McGuire" reboot has been picked up by Disney+, Variety reported. Terri Minsky, who created the original, is also reportedly aboard the revival. Hilary Duff is set to reprise the role of Lizzie McGuire. The original “Lizzie McGuire” series ran for two seasons on the Disney Channel from 2001 to 2004. The news was also confirmed via a tweet from Disney+.
* YouTube LLC TV began offering AMC Networks Inc.'s subscription streaming services Acorn TV and UMC as add-on channels to subscribers, according to a statement. A subscription to Acorn TV's add-on channel costs $6 per month, while UMC's add-on channel is worth $5 per month.
* LiveXLive Media Inc. partnered with STIRR, Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.'s free, ad-supported streaming service, to live stream 12 music events, according to a news release. The series will feature livestreams from iHeartRadio events, as well as festivals and concerts such as Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
* In other YouTube news, the video-sharing website will live stream the "Streamy Awards" exclusively and globally, Broadcasting Cable reported. The "Streamy Awards" will reportedly take place on Dec. 13 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
* Roku Inc.'s TV and movie streaming service, The Roku Channel, is adding a new kids and family content offering. The "Kids & Family" offering includes shows, movies, live linear and short-form video from various free and paid kids' channels. Created by Roku's in-house editorial team, the section includes 7,000 free ad-supported movies and TV episodes.
