Chen Shimin resigned as an independent nonexecutive director of Hailan Holdings Ltd., effective Dec. 31, to focus his time and effort on other business.

The Chinese property developer appointed Zhao Guoqing as a new director. Zhao is the national technical director and partner of Zhonghui Corp.

Zhao will replace Chen as a member and chairman of the audit committee and as a member of the nomination and remuneration committees.
