Chile's state copper miner Codelco produced 769,400 tonnes in the first half, representing a 12.1% yearly drop, Reuters reported Aug. 7, citing the country's copper commission, Cochilco.
Six-month output at the Escondida copper mine, a BHP Group and Rio Tinto majority-owned joint venture, tumbled 12% to 569,900 tonnes, the commission said. Meanwhile, production at the Anglo American PLC and Glencore PLC joint venture Collahuasi mine posted a 2.8% decline to 254,700 tonnes.
