Ameresco to construct 2.5-MW solar facility in Texas

Ameresco Inc. is currently constructing a 2.47-MW solar energy system in El Paso, Texas, after winning an energy saving performance contract from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. According to a Nov. 27 company release, the agency selected Ameresco to build the renewable facility in February and awarded the contract in September.

The facility, to supply power to the El Paso Intelligence Center, will comprise two ground-mount solar photovoltaic systems and is expected to begin operations by fall of 2018. Ameresco will finance, build, own and operate the solar energy system for 20 years.
