Dream Vision swings to loss in fiscal Q1

Dream Vision Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to a loss of ¥16.92 per share, compared with ¥19.81 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥47.5 million, compared with income of ¥57.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 3.0% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 28.8% on an annual basis to ¥1.57 billion from ¥2.20 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 21.9% from the prior-year period to ¥1.63 billion from ¥2.09 billion.

Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥111.0 million, or a loss of ¥39.53 per share, compared to income of ¥68.8 million, or ¥23.70 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
