North Carolina-based Forsite Development Inc. plans to acquire the sites of two retired coal-fired power plants in Michigan from Consumers Energy Co., according to a March 22 report by MLive.
Pending the Michigan Public Service Commission's approval, the demolition of Muskegon County's B. C. Cobb and the Monroe County's J.R. Whiting plants will occur within two years of the deal closing.
The CMS Energy Corp. subsidiary retired both power plants in 2016.
