Mexican restaurants operator CMR buys sushi chain owner Grupo Dasi

Mexican restaurant chain operator CMR SAV de CV has agreed to acquire Grupo Dasi, the local operator of the Sushi Itto restaurant chain, for an undisclosed amount, Reuters reported Aug. 22.

CMR, which runs Mexican eateries under brands such as Chili's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Nescafe, will buy Grupo Dasi and its associated businesses in a cash and stock deal, according to the report.

Grupo Dasi runs more than 140 sushi eateries under the Sushi Itto brand across 20 states in Mexico. The company also owns food producer and supplier Novalimentos, which caters to more than 2,000 establishments, the news wire said.
