Becton Dickinson sees fiscal Q3 EPS grow YOY

Becton Dickinson and Co. reported $2.46 in fiscal third-quarter adjusted earnings per share, an increase of 7.7% year over year on a currency-neutral basis.

The S&P Capital IQ normalized EPS consensus estimate for the third quarter was $2.44.

The N.J.-based company generated $3.04 billion in fiscal third-quarter revenues, up 2.4% year over year on a currency-neutral basis.

Moving ahead, the company booked a fiscal third-quarter GAAP net loss of $165 million, or 75 cents a share, which would compare to a profit of $390 million, or $1.80 a share, a year earlier.

The healthcare equipment manufacturer continues to target fiscal-2017 adjusted EPS of $9.70 to $9.80 on a currency-neutral basis. The company's GAAP EPS is expected to be between $5.10 and $5.15.
