Daishi Bank, Hokuetsu Bank finalize merger agreement

Daishi Bank Ltd. and Hokuetsu Bank Ltd. signed a final agreement to merge their operations under a new holding company, the Japanese regional lenders said in a March 23 release.

The new company, Daishi Hokuetsu Financial Group, will list its shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Oct.1, while Daishi Bank and Hokuetsu Bank will delist their shares Sept. 26.

Both lenders are based in northwestern Japan's Niigata Prefecture.
