Stilwell lowers stake in Provident Financial Holdings

An investor group that includes Stilwell Value LLC reported a decrease in its percentage ownership of Provident Financial Holdings Inc. in an amended Schedule 13D filed June 12.

The Joseph Stilwell-led group has beneficial ownership of 454,440 shares of Provident Financial Holdings common stock, or a 5.8% stake in the Riverside, Calif.-based company, based on 7,891,547 outstanding shares as of April 28.

On June 9, Stilwell Value Partners VII LP sold 19,665 shares, Stilwell Activist Fund LP sold 14,331 shares and Stilwell Associates LP sold 22,883 shares at $19.77 apiece.

That same day, Stilwell Activist Investments LP sold 700 shares at $20.00 apiece and 93,221 shares at $19.77 per share.

It was also noted in the ownership filing that Stilwell Associates is no longer a member of the group.

In June 2015, the investment group disclosed an 8.1% stake in the company. It beneficially owned 701,917 common shares at the time, out of 8,718,929 outstanding common shares.
